of Visual and Verbal Memories in Children with ADHD and Normal Children.

Abstract:
The purpose of present study was to compare the working memory in ADHD (predominantly inattention, predominantly hyperactive/impulsive) and normal children. For this reason, 13 subjects with predominantly inattention, 15 subjects withpredominantly hyperactive/impulsive, and 14 normal primary school children were selected after clinical psychologist diagnosis, and in the base of teacher form of child screeninventory (CSI-4), then four subscales from Wechsler memory scale were administered. Results revealed that normal group obtained higher scores than predominantly inattention and predominantly hyperactive/impulsive groups in three Wechsler memory subscales (mental control, logic memory and association memory), but in numeric memory there was significant difference between control and hyperactive/ impulsive group and not inattention group. Also this study showed there isn’t significant difference between ADHD’s subtypes in any subscales of Wechsler memory scales.
