The purpose of this study was to provide a model for the international development of table tennis in Iran. From the paradigm perspective, the present study was postmodern. This was a qualitative and exploratory type which uses grounded theory strategy, and hidden content analyze, and in terms of purpose was fundamental research. The data collection method was in-depth and semi-structured interviews. The statistical population of the research was the table tennis experts, including the coaches of the national table tennis teams of Iran, the senior managers of the Ministry of Sports and Youth and the Table Tennis Federation, faculty members of the university, 16 of them were considered as sample group by snowball sampling method. After analyzing and extracting the meaningful units using MAXQda 2020 software, finally 450 initial reports with a total frequency of 821 were ready to be categorized. 13 main categories of primary codes in the section of factors affecting the development of international table tennis in Iran, including: educational institutions, the nature of table tennis, the development of public sports, media, motivational factors, talent identification and government, Economic, infrastructure development, specialized and technical, social factor, management and human resources factor were counted. Also, 10 main categories in strategies including: communication, human resource management, supervision, motivational, economic, technical and specialized, managerial, Cultural strategic and international, as well as in the consequences section, the main categories including technical and specialized consequences, equipment development, motivational, international, health, economic, social and ideal were discovered and counted. The international development of table tennis in Iran requires strategic categories that have been mentioned in the present study, and using the results of the present study, this popular sport can be considered as one of the fields prone to winning medals in international arenas in the coming years.

The aim of this study is to identify the factors affecting the international development of table tennis in Iran. From the paradigm perspective, this research is an interpretive research, a qualitative approach, a grounded theory strategy, and a hidden content analysis tactic. The present study is of exploratory nature. The statistical population of this research included the table tennis experts, , the coaches of the Iranian national table tennis teams, senior managers in the Ministry of Sports and Youth and the Table Tennis Federation, were members of the scientific board in the field of sports management. Data were collected through in-depth interviews with these individuals. 226 Preliminary codes were extracted from the initial interviews regarding the factors influencing the improvement of Iranian international table tennis, with the frequency of 460. 13 main categories and 37 pivotal categories were considered regarding the factors affecting the international development of table tennis in Iran. The highest coefficient of importance belonged to managerial factors and specialized and technical factor that were calculated with the coefficient of importance 104 and 80, respectively. Also, the lowest coefficient of importance was related to the category of government and governance, the nature of the field and the media factor that were as 7, 12 and 13, respectively. Managers of the Iranian Table Tennis Federation should consider the role of causal conditions (economic, social factors, infrastructure development and technical and professional factors), intervening conditions (motivational factors, media factor, nature of table tennis) and background conditions (talent identification, managerial factor, government and governance, educational institutions and the development of public sports) as factors influencing the international development of table tennis.

The purpose of this study was to identify and validate the indicators and components affecting the International Development of Table Tennis in Iran. From the paradigm perspective, the present study was a type of pragmatism, mixed approach, exploratory-field nature, phenomenological and survey strategy, and applied in terms of purpose. The data collection method was indepth and semi-structured interviews (qualitative section) and a questionnaire. The statistical population of the study was experts from the national tennis teams of Iran, including the coaches of the national tennis teams of Iran, senior managers in the Ministry of Sports and Youth and the Tennis Federation. The coaches of the various tennis leagues, the tennis boards, the staff and experts of the Ministry of Sports and Youth and the Iranian Tennis Federation formed the sample members of the research in a small section. At first 226 initial codes including 13 main categories and 37 pivotal categories regarding the factors affecting the international development of tennis in Iran were counted, totally the number of these codes were 460. The reliability coefficient of qualitative research re-coding was calculated to be 0.84. The apparent and content validity in the form of CVR and CVR forms was approved by experts and the validity of the research questionnaire after performing the exploratory analysis process. Fit of the model with SRMR calculation equal to 0.066 which showed the optimal fit of the model. Economic factors (0.503), social factors (0.438), infrastructure development (0.43) and technical and specialized factors (0.44), motivational factors (0.373), media factors (0.518), the nature of tennis (0.004) ), Talent identification (0.497), managerial factors (0.530), government and governance (0.458), educational institutions and development of public sports (0.472) as indicators and components affecting the international development of tennis are discovered and validated in which all were reported to have high and medium quality upwards with Q2 calculation
