Fazlur Rahman is one of the greatest researchers of the Islamic philosophy. The "MAJOR THEMES OF THE QUR'AN" is one of his most important essays to obviate the contrast between the Islam and modern world. The holistic attitude of this book is againts two other approaches; one of them is the way which most of orientalists historicaly evaluate the Quran, which means they never read it as an oracle book but they just concider the historical events of it with an outside and non-sympathetic perspective or how they suffice cheking the Arab literature when it comes to study the terms of Quran. The other one is the common muslims "line by line cheking" way that comprises a partial and non-holistic point of view which leads to neglect the basic consepts and orientations of Quran ,  which all of them make sense in that generality context. In fact this book is an effort in order to remark the defects of two mentioned ways in Quran study.

Talking about the immortality of the message of the Qur'an, while adapting to the historical conditions of the age of revelation, has a special place for contemporary scholars. Accordingly, the views and approaches of modern thinkers have become a point of contention between Muslim and non-Muslim thinkers. In the meantime, Fazl-ur-Rehman is a philosopher and modernist who, relying on the sciences of Islamic philosophy, jurisprudence and theology, has sought to resolve the conflict between Islam and the effectiveness of the Qur'an with the modern world. The main themes of the Qur'an, which is devoted to the report of the themes of the Qur'an with a holistic approach with a new look, without mentioning the classical interpretations, used the Qur'an itself to understand the Qur'an and thus showed the main spirit of the Qur'an "Qur'anic ethics". Is. Therefore, it can be said that Fadl al-Rahman's method in understanding the verses is to pay attention to the historical context of the revelation of the verse and its coherent message. The present study seeks to answer the question through descriptive-analytical that what are the principles of Fazl-ur-Rehman in expressing some of his doctrinal and jurisprudential views in this book? In order to answer this question, the achievements of this research have been studied and explained in four bases: historicalism, ethicism, modernism and objectivism.

The main themes of the Qur'an are one of the most important works of Fadl al-Rahman in resolving the conflict between Islam and the modern world. In this work, he reminds us that if our understanding of the Qur'an is based on the main spirit of the Qur'an, namely Qur'anic ethics, we will receive a single and coherent message and meaning of the Qur'an. This book can be considered as a coherent report on the contents of the Qur'an with a new perspective and in this respect it is an important and valuable book. In this book, after an introduction in expressing his views on the method of interpretation of traditional commentators and referring to the views of Westerners about the Qur'an, Fazl-ur-Rehman examines the important themes of the Qur'an in eight chapters. The present study seeks to answer the question that what are the most important contents and theories of Fadl al-Rahman in the book of the main themes of the Qur'an and how it is analyzed? Amineh Vadud is a new Muslim feminism who tries to have an approach of reinterpretationing the Qur'an based on a hermeneutical method adapted from the "monotheistic hermeneutics" and the "dual movement" theory of "Fazl al-Rahman" Of the important feature of this method is attending to the historical background of text appearance, the language capabilities of the revelation language and considering the reader’s mentality and simultaneous rolling of the text and reader. Vadud tries to run the hermeneutical style of the Fazl al-Rahman as an example of some of the verses of the Quran that relate to the women's field and survey the verses of the Quran with a complete feminine view. Vadud is actually seeking a feminine commentary from the Quran but her commentary does not differ much from Fazl al-Rahman interpretations.Researchers in this article, on the basis of a descriptive-analytical method, critiques and examines the influence of the monotheistic hermeneutics of Fazel al-Ramahan, and in particular his dual movement theory have been based on Amineh Vadud's views in his famous book entitled "The Qur'an and woman". The general achievement of this study , express that Amine Vadud, contrary to her claim, did not have any interpretive and feminine inventions in relation to Fazl al-Arhoman.In fact, she has become more and more in the form of a high-ranking embroidery and, in analyzing and verbalizing the Qur'anic verses,does not have enough precision.

Fazl al-Rahmän was a Muslim modernist who attempted to criticize and analyze the methodology of Islamic studies، to make religion more efficient in modern world and to pave the way for the establishment of a religious society. Following a short discussion on the nature of his beliefs، this article introduces Fazl al-Rahmän’s interpretation method and some of his hermeneutic assumptions and their correspondence with classic and neoclassic hermeneutic principles.
