Assessment of land ues compatibility old Zabol using GIS

Generally، the evaluation of how urban land use reflects vivid picture of urban appearance and also compatibility and incompatibility among urban land uses is due to the positive and negative effects of that adjacent land uses have on each other. Evaluation of land use compatibility as a main core of urban planning has an essential role in special – local organization of towns. This lead to the creation of various models for land use analysis. These models evaluate the compatibility of land uses with land use matrix. In this article، compatibility of important urban land uses in old urban texture of Zabol city with GIS has been evaluated and the principal of land use compatibility in localizing has been analyzed. The results of the research show that the economic، administrative and military land uses are in inappropriate conditions، while the other existing land uses in this region have relatively suitable conditions.
