Structure of basic vocational interest in high school students of Torbatheydariyeh

Abstract:
Abstract: For indicating the fit of Holland''s 6-type model، Tracey''s 8-type model، and Gati''s hierarchal model of basic vocational interest in high school students of Torbatheydariyeh، a sample of 391 high school students (182m & 209 fm) completed the Activity Preference form of Personal Globe Inventory. Results of randomization test of hypothesized order relations showed good fit for Holland''s model (CI>0. 73، P=0. 02) and Tracey''s model (CI>0. 71، P<0. 001)، and poor fit for Gati''s model (CI<0. 73، P>0. 12). Results also showed that the fitness of this models were not different across sex and educational age (p>0. 05). Results of examining the corresponding index in 1000 times random-grouping showed that the fitness of Holland''s model was significantly greater from the fitness of Gati''s model (P<0. 001). Results added to cross cultural supports of circularity of structure of basic vocational interests and structural validity of Activity Preference form of Personal Globe Inventory. Some suggestions represented for career researcher and counselors.
