Comparison the effectiveness of web-based, cooperative learning and traditional teaching methods on achievement motivation and academic achievement in biology lesson

Introduction
Web-based teaching method kneed as one newer and more active teaching method to enhance achievement motivation and academic achievement. This study aimed to comparison the effectiveness web-based, cooperative learning and traditional teaching methods on achievement motivation and academic achievement in biology lesson.
Materials And Methods
In this queasy-experimental study with a pre-test and post-test design, 60 boy students in experimental field were selected by multi-step cluster sampling method and randomly assigned to three groups. The experimental groups separately 15 sessions educated by web-based and cooperative learning methods and control group educated by traditional method. All of groups completed the achievement motivation (Hermans, 1970) and teacher-made test as pre-test and post-test. The data were analyzed with using the SPSS-19 software and by multivariate analysis of variance (MANOVA).
Results
The findings showed web-based method unlike traditional method led to increase achievement motivation and academic achievement. Also cooperative learning method unlike traditional method led to increase academic achievement, but between them don’t have significant differences in achievement motivation. In addition between web-based and cooperative methods don’t have any significant differences (p<0/05).
Conclusion
Both web-based and cooperative learning methods unlike traditional method were able to enhance the academic achievement of students. But, only web-based method was effective to enhance the achievement motivation of students.
