The lofty status of Imam Ali (AS) and the truth manifested in Ghadir Khumm in the mirror of Ghadiriyahs of Sharif Razi, Abu Faraas Hamdani and Ibn Rumi

Ghadir carries the message of Islam and represents the fruition of the prophecy of the holy Prophet. The message of Ghadir is constant till the last day of this world and Ghadir’s sermon is the foremost divine document for the establishment of the supreme sovereignty of Twelve Imams (AS). On the day of Ghadir, the Prophet not only introduced the true Imam but also illuminated the Islamic faith’s principles in the most efficient manner. Throughout the fourteen centuries of the Islamic history, the poets among the devotees of Ahl-Bayt, believing in the pure Shia beliefs, have composed and sung Imams’ praises showing the glory of their own inner feelings with their impression of the Holy Quran and the teachings of Ahl-Bayt (AS). The first poet of these was Hassan ibn Thabit who on the day of Ghadir, portrayed that great event and said congratulations to Imam Ali (AS). After that, scores of Shi’ite poets in different periods have composed poems in praise of the Prophet and Ahl-Bayt (AS); of these poets, we can name Sharif Razi, Abu Faraas Hamdani,Ibn Rumi, Kashajim, and Safii al din Hilli.The Topic discussed in this brief article is an introduction to the Ghadiriyahs of three poets who lived in the period of Abbasids; they are Sharif Razi, Abu Faraas Hamdani, and Ibn Rumi. A new outlook has been employed in translating and analyzing the poems for the representation of the true image of the poets’ innate and original feelings and their wholesome intellect in connection with the event of Ghadir and The lofty status of Imam Ali (AS).
