Message:
Abstract:
Research can be considered as a systematic search for the events and phenomenon to discover certain facts and to achieve a range of new materials. Research process and its management are important issues at the levels of individual, group and organization; particularly when academic research is implied. It is clear that teaching, research, cultural infrastructures, the provision of effective services and sustainable development all are the major consequences of an effective university. Current exploratory study aims to investigate and to criticize the status of research management in three departments of University of Tehran including Management, Economics, and Psychology in terms of the tendency to trust or control of the researchers and research process by the management using interview and AHP techniques. Results indicated managers and experts believed that research management in the selected departments has a tendency to high trust and low control. Furthermore, in the departments, it is preferred that the higher level of trust rather than control should be employed. A measure of trust was known as the academic rank of the researcher. It means that the higher academic rank, the higher trust can be made.
