Standardization of Symptom Checklist 90 Revised (SCL-90 -R) in Army Staffs

Different methods for estimating the prevalence of mental disorders exist. One common technique is screening. Screening of mental disorders is simply to identify possible mental disorders that previously identified or have been reported. One of the tools to detect and screening people with mental disorders is Symptom Checklist 90 Revised (SCL-90 -R).the purpose of this study was the Standardization of Symptom Checklist 90 Revised in Army StaffsMethods In this study descriptive - analytical and project type is Standardization. The sample comprised 1200 staffs that was selection by randomly method. The study population included all employees of Defense Ministry Staffs in March 2009. The survey tool was Symptom Checklist 90 Revised (SCL-90 -R).. Results showed internal consistency and test-retest coefficients using Cronbach''s alpha and correlation Pearson were 0.98 and 0.82 respectively. The validity of scale was evaluated by factor analysis method. The cut-off point in Global Symptoms Index (GSI) was determined 0.87. Also norm for male and female was prepared.The data support the reliability and validity of the SCL-90-R as a measure of psychological symptoms for screening staffs that have illness.
