The Role of Passive Defense in the Deterrence of War

In the contemporary wars, the passive defense is a fundamental issue. To answer the question "What is the role of passive defense in the deterrence of war?" In two stages, we identified first in the field to explain passive defense role in deterring war and after we studied the principles of passive defense with operational characteristics of modern warfare, the impact of these two issues and also on deterrence. To do this, we selected a population expert in the passive defense affairs and strategic affairs and the sample size for this study is based on statistical table Morgan 34 people and after studying the theoretical foundations (deterrence, operating characteristics of modern warfare and the principles of passive defense), The results of the questionnaire were analyzed with SPSS software, then, we demonstrated the vital role of passive defense in the deterrence of war. In the second phase, we characterized the high-impact of passive defense in the doctrine's principles of new war`s operational aspects. The sustainability and conservation goals were conceived by passive defense, and thus will be possible resistance versus the enemy (as one of the important factors of deterrence).
