A Comparison of Traffic Safety Education Program in Iran and Australia Preschool Children

Abstract:
The purpose of the present study was to compare traffic safety education program in Iran and Australia preschool children. In this study, similarities and differences between those programs undertaken in these two countries were examined. Data were collected using descriptive study based on content analysis of library documents and research reports. The study examined the elements of programs such as purposes, content, tools and also educational approaches. The results indicated that the purposes of programs had lots of similarity but in educational approach, Australian program was based on structuralism and behavioral change principles, and Iranian program was based on social learning and discussion. The results also showed differences in tools, content and purposes in these two programs.
