Evaluation and Comparison of Cognitive State, Mental Health and Quality Life in Elderly Admitted in Sanitarium with Elderly Sited in Personal Home in Tehran City

In the same context, the present study aims to compare the quality of life, and the state of mental health care and the elderly nursing home residents living in the house. The health plan for the elderly will be more accurate in the future.
This cross-sectional comparative study. The population consisted of 2 group of 120 aging people that 60number of them lived at home and the others lived in sanitarium in Tehran. Then sub groups made by 30 males/30 female. Subjects were selected based on convenience sampling. These means were used for data analysis: quality of life questionnaire sf 36, sample scl 90, cognitive status test is MMCE. Obtained using were used data were analyzed by MANOVA.
The results showed that there was a significant effect of location on mental health f=93.217, and p>0.000. The mean scores of mental disorders that are kept in a nursing home for the elderly is significantly higher the family live. The mean of cognitive status in elderly people living at home are significantly higher than elderly people in nursing home residents are.
