Recall Quranic Stories in Nahj_o_alBalaghah

Abstract:
The Holy Quran is the source of eloquence , rhetoric, and miracle; and the most important religious, intellectual, and cultural legacy; and a commonality among all Moslems. It has been the focus of different historical figures’ attention; and with its particular features such as comprehensiveness, it has always illuminated the humanity’s road to happiness, security and serenity. Among other features, The Quran has its unique story-telling style which is used in many of its suras; and thus has been used as the most important source by scholars as well as religious leaders in order to introduce clarity and adequacy into their works. His Holiness, Imam Ali Ibn AbiTalib, as the leader of Moslems and The Prophet’s successor, tried to explain in His speech whenever He observed the people’s ignorance towards certain topics, clarifying the political, social, religious and moral issues using the inspirations from quranic stories, which were intelligible by the public. In doing so, His Holiness reminded His audience of God Almighty’s endless power using the story of human creation. He also urged them to asceticism and avoiding the veneration of the mundane by telling the modest life of prophets such as Jesus Christ. And by referring to the story of past nations such as the Sabeans, He warned the audience not to act like them and have the same bitter destiny.
