A study of the relationship between emotional intelligence and mental health with job burnout among the nurses in Krman hospitals

Abstract:
The aim of the present study was to investigate the relationship between emotional intelligence and mental health with job burnout among the nurses in kerman hospitals (state, private and social security hospital). The sample size was 252 nurses. The research method was descriptive correlation. The sampling method was random stratified sampling. To collect the data three standard questionnaires were used, namely: emotional intelligence, job burnout, and mental health. To analyses the data descriptive and inferential statistics were used. To process the data SPSS software was used. A cording to the obtained results, increasing emotional intelligence of nurses, had reduced their job burnout. Those nurses with good mental health, can deal with tension better and consequently experience less job burnout. The nurses, who maintain high emotional intelligence, prosper the mental health, for emotional health is a skill that limits negative consequence of stress. Thus learning the methods which increase the emotional intelligence can cause mental health and reduce job burnout.
