The Role of Geopolitical Factors in Islamic Awakening

Abstract:

At the present time, geographical elements are considered increasingly in politico-social developments. Meanwhile, along with examining the concept of Islamic awakening, the reason of recent revolutions in the regional Islamic ( Arab countries has been analysed in terms of geopolitical elements in this essays. The spark to change government in many revolutionary movements resulting in Islamic wakening in Islamic-Arab countries of Middle East and North Africa gave off meaningfully with the gathering of protesting people in a specific place and to exclaim their demands for change. For example, Altahrir (liberation) square in Cairo, Lolo (Martyrs) square in Manama and the main square in Sanaa were the strongholds of the revolutionaries that the geopolitical significance of such places is remarkable. In Libya, although the point to launch protests was not a specific place due to social tribal structure, at last a great blow struck Gadddafi by pressing the governing area. This study is an applied one with contrastive methodology. The contrastive methodology owns different types from which the event type has been selected in this study to determine the cause of revolutions.
