Comprehensive Overview of Hakim Tirmizi's Works on Hadith

Hakim Tirmizi is a scholar of Transoxiana in third century who has lots of compilations. He passed learning of traditional sciences before entering the area of Sufism and Asceticism. Being in a family whose parents were Muhaddith, he started learning hadith knowledge from childhood and acquired lots of skills in this area. By starting ascetic disposition, Hakim Tirmizi tried to explain his mystic and lighting Sufism in the era of religious sciences. Thus, he incorporated his experiences and Sufis beliefs in his previous studies, such as narrative data. Therefore, as Hadith has played a significant role in thought of Hakim Tirmizi, we have studied his works in detail and by a descriptive-analytic method, have analyzed its dimensions; the works which are not very popular even in academic sciences. In this essay, in addition to research on the most popular work of Ḥakīm al-Tirmidhī i.e. Nawādir al-usūl, three other work also has been reviewed and an unknown work of him has been introduced, too.
