Political Thought and Behavior of Imam Hossein (A. S.)

As successors of the great prophet and as those who are far from committing mistakes, although the Shia imams, except for a short period, were away from the place of Khilafah (governorship), they have opinions and thoughts about government and politics. These opinions can be observed and inferred from their Sirah (behaviors) and activities. As a person who launched a special wave in the history of Islam, Imam Hossein has a special role here. In order to access his political thoughts and behaviors, this paper has studied his speeches and behaviors and has inferred his views regarding government, society, revision, uprising, war and human munificence, and has concluded that Imam Hossein (A. S.) has acted according to an intellectual system based on the Book, Sunnah and the principle of “áæáÇ ÍÖæÑ ÇáÍÇÖÑ æ ÞیÇã ÇáÍÌå ÈæÌæÏ ÇáäÇÕє (if people were not present, uprising would have been proven to me).
