Author(s):
Abstract:
Languages differ with regard to the object markers. Object may be unmarked in one language¡ marked in another¡ and still it may or may not be marked in the other. Also¡ it is possible for objects in one language to be marked differently. The differences in object marking in different languages are dealt with as Differential Object Marking and properties like animacy of the object referents and referentiality are supposed to be important. Most of the studies done in Persian consider properties of objects as the crucial factor in this phenomenon. This article¡ however¡ regards object affectedness as the underlying reason for differential object marking to which other factors are related.
