Content analysis of the new education system 2nd Grade high school Biology textbook based on the Plesk's creativity education pattern

Abstract:
This research has been done to evaluate the content of the 2nd grade high school biology textbook according to Plesks creativity education pattern and to identify factors that can provide the background of thinking, creativity and innovation when developing the content of textbooks. The research method was content analysis. The research population and sample of this research was the 2nd grade high school Biology textbook and the research instrument was the checklist of content analysis, considering a coding scheme for checking. The coding scheme was set according to parameters of the Plesks directed creative cycle. Face and content validity of the mentioned checklist was checked using the viewpoints of education instructors and teachers. The reliability of the instrument was checked using »William Scott« formula. Reliability coefficient was calculated ) 0. 80( showing that it has high reliability. Results of the quantitative content analysis of the2nd grade high school biology textbook indicated that the content focuses on the mental readiness and also some components of the imagination and the application has been considered. Findings showed that the observation of components was very little and there was no consistency in the observation of most components in all dimensions. It was suggested that observing some components in the development of high school biology textbooks, made the process of creativity education and its growth possible.
