Sufism in Egypt and the Islamic Republic of Iran: Opportunities and Barriers to Collaboration

Abstract:
Sufism in Egypt as a powerful social movement has a fairly significant followers. The main question of this paper is that What the nature of the Sufism in Egypt and what the elements of it in Egypt? Besides this, two sub questions arise: whether Sufism has a role In the process of January 25 revolution and in during of post-revolution developments? Also what are the opportunities and barriers to collaboration between Sufi movement in Egypt and the Islamic Republic of Iran?
This study that relies on describing and analyzing, using historical and comparative methods and utilizes identity theory and its role in collective action, First attempts to recognize the nature of the Sufi stream with Relying on intellectual and institutional and historical elements, secondly, to understand the behavior of Sufis in Egypt's post-Mubarak and to review the reasons of Sufi trends to politic in post-revolution era and thirdly, with practical approach, attempts to analyze the opportunities and barriers to collaboration between Sufi movement and Islamic Republic of Iran.
