The effect of educational intervention based on theory planned behavior on breastfeeding behavior in pregnant women in Fasa City

Abstract:
Background And Objectives
: The value of breastfeeding and its role in the health of infants and mothers is not overlooked. Given the importance of breastfeeding And the role of factors such as attitude toward behavior Subjective Norms on changing the behavior of mothers And hit the bottom of exclusive breast feeding in the country and the city of Fasa, The researcher focused on the impact of the curriculum on the theory of planned behavior On the breastfeeding behavior in pregnant women referring to Fasa city health centers.Materials And Methods
This quasi-experimental study was performed on 50 case and 50 control women who referred to fasa urban health centers during the period from 30 to 34 gestational age in 2017. With a two-part questionnaire (demographic and planned behavior theory) and the checklist for Breastfeeding was Information was collected. Educational intervention as 3 training sessions each for 55 to 60 minutes And training to husbands was done indirectly by pregnant women themselves The control group received only regular training Breast-feeding behavior before training And 40 days postpartum were evaluated in both groups. Data was analyzed using Spss22 software and descriptive statistics, Chi-square, independent T and paired t-test.Result
The results showed that there was no significant difference between the two groups in terms of knowledge, attitude, perceived behavioral control, Subjective norms, intent and lactation behavior before the educational intervention. However, after the intervention, the test group showed a significant increase compared to the control group for any of the above mentioned cases.Conclusion
Mothers attitude towards lactation, social networking support and proper breastfeeding in the community are among the factors influencing successful lactation in the first three months after childbirth.Language:
