Abstract:
The first component that determines the fruit qualitative characteristics is almost certainly sweets or sugar content. The aim of the present study was to examine the effect of grafting under deficit irrigation the experiment was conducted for qualitative characteristics of fruit, Split plot in a randomized complete block design with three replications during 2014 in the research field of higher education institution Imam Khomeini (RA) under the Ministry of Agriculture in Karaj. In this study as a scion of the local population melon Soski Zard and commercial varieties of Cucurbita rootstocks cv., Shintozwa and Ferro-RZ was used as the rootstock. Grafted plants upon commercial varieties of Cucurbita with own-rooted melon (Soski Zard upon Soski Zard) and ungrafted (Control) at three irrigation levels 60, 80 and 100 percent (Control), based on total available water depletion with drip irrigation system were evaluated.
