Postpartum depression and some related factors

Postpartum depression endangers mother's health and has negative effect on her social communication and infant development. Therefore, this study is conducted to determine the postpartum depression and some related factors.
This Study is a cross-sectional research, which was accomplished in Fateme Zahra hospital in Najafabad. Ninety two samples were selected from mothers with 4- 8weeks after delivery through convenience method. Depression in samples was measured by Beck questionnaire .The obtained data were analyzed by statistical test(X2) and PFindings: The majority of mothers (78.28%) were suffering from depression. A significant relationship were existed between the educational level, independent living and type of delivery and the postpartum depression (p According to the results of this study and considering negative effect of postpartum depression on family function, more attention should be given to this disorder.
