The victory of the Islamic Revolution, the collapse of the Soviet Union, the formation of the Central Asian and Caucasian countries, the war in Afghanistan, the US invasion of Afghanistan and Iraq, the unrest in the Arab Middle East, along with other geopolitical factors such as energy, security, terrorism, nuclear issues, missile defense shields The role of Iran's geopolitics in the Middle East has become increasingly important, so Iran at this time is looking for a role in its position in this field, one of which is an important region of Central Asia, which Iran, with its common cultural, historical, social and political ties, Geographic agents are calling for an active role In that area. Among the Central Asian countries, Turkmenistan, due to its large volume of gas resources, has a long common border with Iran and the country with the proceeds from the sale of gas for its development, and, on the other hand, the need of the Islamic Republic of Iran to supply its northern gas And in addition to trying to use transit benefits. In addition, Turkmenistan has a half-look at exporting its gas to the world markets through Iran and Turkey. In addition to economic issues and increased gas sales, Turkmenistan has pursued an increase in pipelines in a way that aimed at reducing the Russian gas monopoly in the country, which is why Iran plays an important role in Turkmenistan's gas policy despite the tensions. The purpose of this paper is to explain the position of Iran in the transit of Turkmen gas, following regional and international description and analysis of the current situation in the region, and then providing solutions to improve the state of convergence of both Iran and Turkmenistan in the field of gas relations.
