Examining the Role of Organizational Structure Factor on the Quality and Quantity of TV News (From the Perspective of IRIB News Experts)

Producing news stuff in newsrooms is highly effective by intra-organizational factors. In the present paper organizational structure factor have been investigated and the role of variables as policy, professionalism, decision making, managing and technology in the quality and quantity of TV news have been determined. This article is based on a survey-based research which used a researcher –made questionnaire to collect data. The population consisted of 530 individuals mostly IRIB News Agency staff, of which some 112 were selected as samples. Findings indicate that all organizational structure factors play a role in the quality and quantity of news stories; according to the findings, in such factors as technology (3.55), and professionalism (3.25) has the greatest role in the quality and quantity of news stories. This research reveals the necessity of media managers, attention to human resources, equipping newsrooms with modern information and communication technologies.
