A survey on the relationship between system thinking dimensions with managers' business and competitive intelligence of industrial companies

Abstract:
The importance of system thinking in the organization and its role in business and competition has encouraged many researchers to consider it in their researches. System thinking helps managers to see organizations as stable models with specific boundaries and gain information about their resistance towards changes. The objective of this research is to survey on the relationship between system thinking dimensions with managers' business and competitive intelligence of industrial companies. The research methodology is descriptive – survey of correlation type and the research population consists of managers of industrial companies who are 120 people. According to Kerjcey and Morgan table and simple random sampling method, the sample size is 92 people. Data gathering instrument in this research is Questionnaire which uses 3 questionnaires of Goldman's system thinking, Prowiche's business intelligence, and Fahi's competitive intelligence. Cronbach's alpha of all variables was over 0.7. For analyzing data, SPSS software was used. Research findings showed that system thinking dimensions predict the variance of 3% of business intelligence variable and 41% of competitive intelligence variable. Research findings also showed that system thinking dimensions have a direct and positive relationship with business intelligence and specifically managers'competitive intelligence
