In this regard, all societies and thinkers' identity and its dimensions, whether national, religious and indigenous considered. The supreme leader is considered the nation as a whole and one of the levels of the collective identity. According to positive and negative trends in the debate on nationalism, he suggests two types of nationalism: positive nationalism and negative nationalism. Negative nationalism is dependence on his own congregation, along with negative attitudes and the rejection of others. According to the positive nationalism, the person depends on the particular country and the nation he /she knows and loves his homeland, but he/she does not negate the other nations. In other words, he/she has a sense of dignity and honor of the nation and its independence and he/she has confidence. Ayatollah Khamenei, not only doesn’t consider positive nationalism as a bad idea, but he believes that such nationality should be respected. Supreme Leader considers religious identity superior to nationalism. Especially as he believes that a relationship with God is the most important factor that will ensure progress of a nation in all conditions.In the field of political identity, the leader emphasizes the elements such as Messianism, Ashura, Imam, Velayat Faghih, and Anti-imperialism and Religious convergence. In this regard, he focuses on themes such as understanding the enemy, avoiding divisiveness, lifesaving unity of the Shiites and rejection of the status quo.Keywords: leader, identity, religious identity, leadership
