The mediating role of Self-Controlled and conflict parents-child in relationship between Psychological Neural Function with Oppositional Defiant Disorder in Deaf Children
Hearing impairment in children can cause psychological and communication problems, So the purpose of this research was to investigate the mediating role of Self-Controlled and conflict parents-child in relationship between Psychological Neural Function with Oppositional Defiant Disorder in Deaf Children.
The research method was descriptive-correlational (Structural Equation Modeling) (SEM). The population of this study was deaf children aged 9 to 12 years with oppositional defiant disorder in the Baghcheban complexes of Tehran in 2019. According to the observed 11 variables and assigning a coefficient of 20 to 220 deaf children were selected as sample by single stage cluster sampling. Conners' Psychological Neural Function Scale (2004), Self-Control (1982), conflict parents-child Questionnaire (1979), and the Pediatric Symptoms Questionnaire (1984) were used. The model was evaluated using regression equation method and with using the Spss 24 and Amos 23 software.
The results showed that there is a significant relationship between self-control, conflict parents-child and Psychological Neural Function with Oppositional Defiant Disorder in deaf children and 36% of Oppositional Defiant Disorder in deaf children affected by self-control, conflict parents-child and Oppositional Defiant Disorder. Also self-control (-0.28) and conflict parents-child (0.14) mediate the relationship between Psychological Neural Function with Oppositional Defiant Disorder in deaf children (P≥0.01).
In the field of evaluation and treatment of Oppositional Defiant Disorder in Deaf children, special attention is paid to Psychological Neural Function problems with emphasis on developing self-control skills and improving communication environment and can play a decisive role.
