Nuclear Blackmail in the International Law System, Focusing on the Treaty on the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons 2017
Along with the various benefits that nuclear technology has had in many aspects of the life of the human community, recruiting that type of energy for activities that violate international peace and security is regarded as one of the major concerns of international community actors from the discovery of nuclear energy to now. One of these concerns is nuclear blackmail, which threatens to use nuclear weapons or other nuclear explosive devices or threatens to release nuclear materials in order to meet the demands of the agenda. In this way, the activists of the International Law System did not, until 2017, take a measurable measure to counteract such acts. The treaty on prohibition of nuclear weapons and the absolute ban on the threat of using nuclear weapons or other nuclear explosive devices as an innovative tool to combat nuclear blackmail. In this regard, the purpose of this essay is to analyze and evaluate its status in the International Law System, in line with what is said in the treaty on prohibition of nuclear weapons. To this end, the failures and of the above-mentioned conduct are clearly outlined.
