stuttering is a disorder in fluency of speech interrupted due to repetition, block, prolongation and hesitation. Frequency of this disorder is around 1% in population. In this research we used of Bar-ON emotional intelligence questionnaire to investigation of effects of stuttering on emotional intelligence. To do this research, we estimate reliability of the questionnaire on 30 adolescents without stuttering and then used of it on 21 adolescents stutterers group and 30 non-stutterers group.
The results of the present research showed that the general scores of two groups had not significant difference. The persons with stuttering had more scores in flexibility but there was not any significant differences in this aspect.
There are not any significant differences between two groups and these might to stuttering had not any effects on emotional intelligence in adolescent. In addition, high score in flexibility in stutterers group might showed that fluency disorder can help them to adjust their thinks and behavior with environmental and conditions changes more than non-stutterer groups in this age.
