Analysis of the Socio-Economic Impacts of Urmia Lake Water Reduction in Suburbs of City of Chahar Borj with Emphasis on Seasonal Migration
Lakes and especially inland lakes Although they play a key role in the rural economy and the stabilization of agricultural activities, water depletion is a major threat to population sustainability in rural areas and a factor in the migration of rural areas in particular. Migration is the workforce and rural youth. The purpose of the present study was to investigate the effects of decreasing the water level of Lake Urmia on seasonal migrations of Chahar Borj town in Miandab country. The type of applied research, descriptive-analytical research method, library and field data collection method and factor analysis and principal component analysis were used for data analysis. The statistical population of the study includes rural households of villages around Chahar Borj village in North Mokmat Abad village which according to Census 1395 has 2803 households and 10294 population. The findings show that factor analysis results were classified into eight categories and explained 66.99% of the variance. The most important factors that have caused the seasonal migration of villagers through the decline of Lake Urmia include: income, water and soil resources, management, inputs and machinery, and diversification of income and collective cooperation.
