Pattern of Discursive Formation in Strategic Thinkingamong NAJA Commanders and Senior Managers
This paper presents a pattern of discursive formation in strategic thinking among NAJA commanders and senior managers. It is a practical descriptive-analytical research. It also uses a combined (qualitative and quantitative) approach which focuses on particular periods. The data are collected by using documentary and survey methods. In its documentary phase, relevant information is collected and then analyzed. It its survey phase, the status quo is studied by means of interviews and questionnaires. Research findings show that this pattern must cover three levels (including discourse text, organizational communication and interactions, and organizational culture) as well as three aspects (including the use of language, the relationship between subjective beliefs, and the interactions in social and management conditions). According to research findings, in order to form discourse in strategic thinking on the level of discourse text, training, and substantial application of future studies and its inclusion in commanders and senior managers’ responsibilities, it is necessary to promote the lingual codes concerning strategic thinking. It is also necessary to hold sessions on the criticism and analysis of visions and main objectives of the organization. On the level of organizational communication and interactions, it is required to increase direct communication among commanders and senior managers, to increase informal communication, to increase conversations and personal meetings, to develop structural style of communication, and to direct attentions to dynamic style of communication. On the level of organizational culture, it is a must to promote consequentialism which is based on accurate criteria, to pay attention to developmentalism, to practice innovative styles of management, to grow dynamism and healthy competition among senior managers in the organization, to exercise transformational leadership, to place more focus on visions and main objectives, and to highlight strategically discoveries of new opportunities.
