The Study of the impact of electronic fare collection on dwell time in the transit systems
Dwell time is one of the most important parameters in analyzing urban transit systems which has a major effect on capacity, delay, level of service and performance of transit line. One of the most effective factors on dwell time in transit stops, is the fare collection method. The technology of smart card as one of the fare collection methods causes the reduction in dwell time in transit system stops, in addition to other advantages. The main objective of this study is the study of the impact of fare collection method on dwell time. Therefore the datas are gathered in several lines of BRTs in Tehran, Then the Statistical models of collected datas are represented to show the impact of fare collection method and the gender of passengers on dwell with observed data while the correlation 0.549 time.
