Abstract:

Cities and towns are not equally threatened by different dangers that potentially threatens them. This is because of different social, physical, environmental and cultural sizes of the cities. Therefore, each city or town follows a different approach. This requires thorough research studies on investigating the criteria and related indexes and their impacts of urban structure and resilience. This study has a practical nature and uses descriptive- analytical method to identify the effective resilience factors and physical indexes of urban neighborhoods, and also to evaluating and assess the physical resilience of Kish Island’s neighborhoods. The researcher attempts to present a framework for evaluating the rate of physical resilience. Then the data was collected by field methodology and questionnaire. In the next step, the conditions of neighborhoods in terms of resilience were provided by Friedman method and the resilience condition of the neighborhoods were calculated based on the effective parameters. The results showed that Nobonyad and Arabha Neighborhoods are respectively the best and the worst neighborhoods in terms of resilience. The second, third and the fourth rank of high resilience are line of the beach and respectively belongs to Eest and Sadaf neighbuor hoods. Due to the executive capability of the findings of this research study it is possible to provide a framework for evaluating and assessing the resilience of other urban neighborhoods.
