Investigating the Necessity of Imposing Traffic Limitations in So-Called Single and Pair Plan

To increase traffic discipline and increase crossing network in the metropolitan of Karaj, various methods have been applied; one of which is the implementation of modern single and pair traffic plan. Given the fact that the modern single and pair plan in the central part of Karaj has been carried out, it is necessary to investigate the necessity of imposing such a plan in the central part of this city. This research was applied in treks of subject matter and from a gathering of data perspective it was descriptive-survey. For this, 412 questionnaires were distributed among Karaj citizens, including drivers, staffs, businessmen, teachers and students, traffic experts, house keepers, traffic personnel and workers. Their views were asked about this single and pair plan. The findings showed that most people under investigation were agreeing with the execution of this plan. Also, while investigating problems facing the implementation of this plan in the city, findings revealed that 38% of people cited the problem of over-crowdedness because of public vehicles, 29% the problem of reduced number of migrants 27% problem of arriving at the working place late and 6% reduce income. However, while examining the benefits of this plan, 34% cited easiness of traffic ad empty streets, 33% arriving in place of work early, 23% reduced pollution, and 10% more thinking comfort.
