Abstract:

One of important issues that has engulfed the minds of scholars the continuation of Iranian cultural influences throughout history. Many of the cultural components of Iranians have passed since the millenniums, and today they are common in the same way among people. One of these is the sanctity and the top position of number seven. Although number seven in most cultures has a high status and rituals, the focus of this article is to study the septet in the culture of the Zagros people and the writer has touched upon their historical etymology. Many of the septet popular traditions in the Zagros culture are rooted in Iran's history and mythology, which were commonplace in ancient times. Manifestation of number seven in celebrations, religious beliefs, mourning, games, geographic names and tribal names can be clearly observed. In this research, based on library resources as well as a field research and a descriptive-analytical method, it has been tried to historically study the traditional septet in the culture of Zagros people. In fact, the purpose of this research is to find an answer to this question: What are the septet in the culture of the Zagros and what is the root of Iran's history and culture? Among the common septet in the culture of the Kurdish and Lor people are: Seven days and nights of the wedding celebration, seven musical instruments and seven drums, seven types of bridal dinners, seven mountains, seven springs, seven mills, seven Langs, seven stones.
