The effectiveness of dialectical behavioral therapy on expressed emotion of mothers of children with intellectual disabilities: A randomized Clinical Trial Study
The purpose of the present study was to determine the effectiveness of dialectical behavior therapy on the expressed emotion of mothers of children with intellectual disabilities. This study was a randomized clinical trial. The sample consisted of 24 mothers with intellectual disabilities referred to Tabriz Rehabilitation Complex in spring 2019 that Were selected based on inclusion and exclusion criteria and randomly assigned into experimental and control group. Questionnaires of emotional expressiveness, were used to measure the variables at different stages of the study. The experimental group underwent 8 sessions of dialectical behavior therapy and the control node received no treatment. Data were analyzed using multivariate analysis of covariance using SPSS software. The results showed that dialectical behavior therapy had positive effects on the expressed emotion, of mothers of children with intellectual disability (p <0.05). Therefore, it can be concluded that Expressing emotion in mothers of children with intellectual disabilities may be one of the most important skills that is worthy of intervention with dialectical behavior therapy And it can be used to improve the excitement of mothers of intellectually disabled children, along with other effective treatments.
