Effectiveness of cognitive therapy based on mindfulness on temptation and impulsivity of opiate addicts
The purpose of this study was to investigate the effectiveness of cognitive therapy based on mindfulness on temptation and impulsivity of opiate addicts.
the research method was semi-experimental research with semi-experimental design (pre-test-post-test). The statistical population consisted of all addicted male patients who referred to addiction treatment centers in Tabriz. 30 individuals (15 experimental and 15 control) were randomly selected and responded to Bart's impulsive questionnaire (1994) and Temptation questionnaire developed by Beck and Wright's (1993).
The results of covariance analysis showed that there was a significant difference between the scores of the groups (opioid addicts) and the mean scores of impulsivity and temptation in the post test in the experimental group were significantly higher than the control group.
Based on the findings of this research, it can be concluded that cognitive therapy based on mindfulness has an effect on the temptation and impulsiveness of opiate addicts.
