A Semantic Analysis of the Word Tarbiyat and the Semantic Approach of the Word Rububiyat in the Quran

The word rububiyat comes from the root “rabb” meaning to train, and of course its Quranic examples, which are semantically aligned with this word, are considered to come from the root “rabbu” in the inflectional structure. However, from the perspective of the Quran, rububiyat can be divided into two types: takwini and tashri’i. The takwini type is a kind of indirect and intangible guidance that is not specific to human beings, but the tashri’i type is specific to human beings, which is particularly characterized by sending prophets and divine books for guidance purposes. Of course, considering the same concept of rububiyat, it can be divided into general and specific types. The general type covers nurturing all creatures in the system of existence, as well as nurturing all human beings to the same degree, and the specific type can be considered a special kind of divine nurturing that covers the training of special people like the prophets. This study is an attempt to, first, categorize and then explicate the examples of the lordship of the “Lord of the Worlds”, all of which are directly or indirectly related to human beings. For this purpose, the semantic layers of each of them have been explained in the field of divine Lordship and according to the context of the verses. One of the results of this study is to prove that man is of special standing for God, Who has bestowed special divine lordship on him and trains the prophets in their best form, so that the legislative guidance of other human beings, which is one of the examples of lordship, can be fulfilled by them.
