Abstract:

The identification of the Quranic narrations with the inconsistent procedures of descriptive and recommended propositions from the previous texts was expressed by the ill-wishers for and disbelievers in the holy Quran throughout the history of Islam. This postulation was processed in various ways to demonstrate the teachings and propositions of the holy Quran are devoid of identity while the disbelievers were short of ideological models. The nature of the response of the believers in the Quran during the history was ideological, and in regard to method, it was aligned with their methodological claim. The rise of empirical knowledge, the emergence of new empirical theories and its projection into philosophical and religious views placed the claim of taking the text of religion from the previous texts in the idea of intertextuality. The new approach considered all the teachings of the holy Quran, especially the story of the Great Flood, in a structural and cognitive range taken from the previous texts. Using the hermeneutic method, this study examined and criticized the Quranic narration of Noah's Flood at the text level, with the author-based hermeneutic elements and in relation to the mythological texts of Mesopotamia and the old Testament and the New Testament, and processed the idea of its independence using textual discourse elements.
