Feasibility of Expanding Criminalization of Offences against Trade Secrets in Iranian Law

Trade secrets has been called to any informations with actuall or potential economic or competitive value that not be known for people and not be accessable by legal ways and the legal holder has protected their secrecy reasonably. Demonstration of economic value of trade secrets has convinced Iranian legislator to criminalize the illegal actions against them. Nonetheless, criminal protection has limited to particular scope such as electronic trade secrets and stock market information. In this article, upon conceptual analysis approach, we try to answer to this question that can we consider offences against trade secrets as a case of offences against property and use ancient crimes such as theft and abuse of confidence in order to protection of them.
