Investigation and Critique of the Theory of Multiplicity of the Riser in the Yamani Claimant Ahmad Ismael Basri
The term “riser” is one of the most widely used words reflected in the Mahdavi narrations, the only comparable example of which, after the eleven Imams, is the Imam of the Age (A.S); however, in the contemporary era, “Ahmad Ismael Basri” movement, with reference to the texts of traditions, with a special interpretation, believes in two risers: a riser before the appearance, and a riser after the appearance. Ahmad Ismael Basri- in his opinion- as the riser before the appearance, by the order of Imam of the age (A.S) considers himself the executor of the Imam’s orders. The following paper, organized with a descriptive-analytic method, while addressing their citations, has criticized their main reasons with the focus on the name, descendants and life of the Imam (A.S). Citing weak traditions, fragmenting some narrations, and their reasons in conflict with the accepted principles by this sect, are among the “methodical” criticisms. From the “content” point of view, we can point to the lack of processing other similar traditions, unbridled hermeneutics, and taste in the interpretation of the narrations.
