Explaining Revolutionary Islam in Iran Using Mahdavi's Prophecy Theory

Revolutionary Islam was dominant in Iran during the twentieth century. At the end of the article, the researcher considers the Mahdism as an idealizing factor in the development of revolutionary Islam in Iran. And inspired a new wave of revolutionary Islam in the Middle East. Prophecy and expectation culture were among the elements of the movement and influenced its continuity. The Mahdist doctrine has had a unique effect on the formation of this great social change in Iran. The hidden angles of this great impact have been less researched. This research is an attempt to apply the doctrine of Mahdism in explaining revolutionary Islam in Iran. The researcher explains that Mahdism has affected the historical transformation leading to the Islamic Revolution and the formation of the Islamic Republic. The thought of Mahdism has facilitated the process of social mobilization in Iran. In this research and during the evolutions of the last two centuries, Mahdi's adventurism has transformed from subjectivity to objectivity situation. At the end of the article, the researcher considers the Mahdism as an idealizing factor in the development of revolutionary Islam in Iran.
