Abstract:
This study draws on both quantitative and qualitative findings from corpus analysis to define the language in Bābā Ṭāher Quatrains. The present article uses Bābā Ṭāher Quatrains as a linguistic evidence and contributes to the knowledge about it, especially in the field of historical grammar and typology. The article reviews and updates recent research to clarify the language origins, using comparative and historical linguistics methods. The first part of this article is devoted to the stratification of dialectal features of Bābā Ṭāher Quatrains. The second part focuses on the role of particular characteristics in Bābā Ṭāher Quatrains, the language of Jews in Hamdan and other Fahlaviyāts of Hamadan in reconstructing the former vernacular language of Hamadan.
