The Level of Social Happiness based on University Researches
This article aims to review researches related to social happiness published between 2013 and 2018 in Iran.
The research method was qualitative meta-analysis and in it, out of 308 scientific articles, master's theses and doctoral dissertations in different fields of humanities, 45 were selected as research samples.
The results show that the level of social happiness in Iran is moderate and the variables of gender, age, marriage, education and place of residence alone do not have a significant relationship with social happiness and in cases where this relationship was significant due to the presence of other factors; But the relationship between employment status (employed-unemployed) and socio-economic status with social happiness is positive and significant. Individual variables of self-esteem, religiosity, satisfaction with quality of life and leisure time have the most significant effect on social happiness, respectively, and in all studies that have examined the relationship between these factors and social happiness a direct and strong correlation between them and social happiness has been reported.
the macro variables of social capital (including trust, participation and social interactions), social security, justice and social welfare and mass media, respectively, have the greatest impact on social happiness and in general have a high and positive correlation with it. Strengthening social capital (especially social trust) and social security along with valuing people's leisure time in the form of cultural-social and entertainment-sports programs and promoting radio and television programs based on social networks can be effective in improving and promoting social happiness.
