The role and position of religion in the medical science of ancient Iran
In the present study, while examining medical information and the status of medical science in ancient Iran and the great impact that religion had on the medical science of ancient Iran, and also the role of Moghans and priests as early physicians of ancient Iran by referring to historical religious texts. In ancient Iranian medicine, there were strict medical laws and medical science, along with the civilization of those times, had different disciplines and different achievements that were transferred to the Greek civilization through the wars and travels of Iranians and Greeks and became famous by their names. In ancient Iran, it was based on Avestan medicine, the traces of which can be traced in some Pahlavi surviving texts, and on the other hand, they had relations with neighboring lands of Iran, including Egypt, Greece and Rome. Medical science in this period, especially During the Sassanid period, like other sciences, there was a significant progress. Materials related to Achaemenid medicine are scattered in religious books, including the third books of Dinkard, Vandidad, Avesta and Greek historians. But unfortunately, just as the Parthians lack information and resources in other cases, such reliable information can not be found in medical medicine.
