Providing»blue economy development«solutionsin Gilan province

Today, the most important source of production and economic, social and service activities of a country is formed in the waters of that country. To find a model for the exploitation of the development of the sea and use the facilities and opportunities of water economy, this article intends to study the importance of blue economy in the geography of the southern shores of the Caspian Sea in Gilan province

The present study seeks to provide a theoretical model; hence, its methodology is based on the documents available in the literature on blue economics and complex economics. It is also an applied research. For this purpose, it evaluates the concept of water economy and its areas of interest and experienced areas in the world today at first and then it demonstrate its scope and ancillary capabilities by examining the geographical features of the region and evaluating the situation of its comparative advantages.

The results of the research reveal five basic strategies in shaping the water economy of the coasts of Gilan province as follows: 1- Expanding maritime transportation capabilities; 2- New technologies in water economy; 3- Utilization of water tourism capacity; 4- Shipbuilding capabilities; 5- Fisheries and aquaculture capacities of the Caspian Sea.

In order to benefit from the "sea-based" economy of the coasts of Gilan province, the existing capacities in each of the five basic strategies should be considered, which is discussed in this article.
