The Effect of in-service Training on employee empowerment(Case study: Amirabad sea port of Behshahr)
The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of in-service training on empowerment of Amirabad seaport staff in Behshahr.
This research is a descriptive survey and applied study.The statistical population included all employees of Amirabad seaport of Behshahr who were 254 participants.By using Krejcie and Morgan table for statistical sample, 154 people were selected by stratified random sampling on the basis of their educational degrees.To collect data, a researcher-made questionnaire based on (Spritzer empowerment model) was used, the reliability of which was 0. 94.
Descriptive and inferential statistics including one-sample t-test and Friedman test were used to analyze the data.The results showed that in-service training has an effect on employees’ competence, independence, job significance, sense of security and effectiveness.The rank of each of the components on employees’ empowerment is the sense of security, competence, job significance, independence and effectiveness respectively.
The results of this study indicated that in-service training has an effect on employees’ empowerment, i. e. , the component of feeling safe has the most effect and the component of impact has the least effect.
