The Study of the Dimensions and Necessities of a Virtuous Society in Today’s Iran

Contemporary societies arefacing various crises such as  those related to the environment, animal cruelty, poverty, viral diseases, war and militarism, human oppression of each other, the expansion of instrumental relations between human beings, political and civil indifference, and moral collapse. The present article focuses on the moral crisis. We are looking at the question of how to prevent the deepening and widening of the moral crisis? As a hypothesis, the answer is that moving towards a virtuous society with these characteristics: responsibility, trust, honesty, benevolence, cooperation, altruism, skill. These characteristics are our hope in preventing the spread of a moral crisis. Therefore, we need to recognize the essence and dimensions of a virtuous society which is  a crucial issue in Iranian society. From a practical point of view, an attempt has been made to establish a reasonable connection between the theory of virtue-based ethics and society. The method of analysis is the normative method. The results of the discussion show that in the light of virtue ethics, we can be hopeful to have a different  in encounter with the crisis-stricken Iranian society.
