Apostasy is one of the topics of Islamic political jurisprudence which considers the departure of a Muslim from Islam as a punishment. But in this regard, the Iranian penal system is silent in determining its punishment and criminalization, and therefore, based on this, we will examine what is the view of Islam and the Iranian penal system on the issue of apostasy and its criminal nature?
